From Thanksgiving weekend through late December, Boerne celebrates with three themed holiday weekends. Dickens on Main is the big one: Victorian costumes, lights and holiday shopping along Main Street. With the Hallmark spotlight on the town this year, expect bigger crowds than usual. The rest of the year, spend the day on Main Street, walk the trails at the Cibolo Nature Center or head down into Cascade Caverns, then come back to the creeks and the stars.

You can eat, sip and stock up without getting back in the car.
